About Me

dex
Gordons Bay, western cape, South Africa
Rudè le Roux completed a diploma in graphic design and fine art in 2003 in Pretoria. Now living in Gordon’s Bay this 26 year old artist runs a small graphic design and events firm that also organizes various exhibitions for other up and coming artists. “My love for all art forms has always been my motivation to chase the dream of becoming successful in my passion. By embracing originality in my artistic journey, I hope to not only be inspired, but also to inspire... I have also recently launched a commercial range of paintings supplied to various gift shops and galleries as a more affordable form of my art. This gives all art lovers the chance to have a piece of their own without spending too much.

"DEXPRESSIONISM"

I call my work dexpressionism. The reason being that I couldn't as of yet decide what exact style my art is classified as.

Although I am influenced by many artists and a combinations of styles & technique including my photography, I am still in the process of developing my own unique style.

The "" SUBJECT "" is based on modern day woman/people and I make use of some fashion elements, as reference to specific time and setting.

The use of mostly black & white and now extremely bright colours is the foundation of the exploration of my style. The Black & white and high contrast images seems to portray and express emotion more intensely than other.

Have a look at the work of American Mc Gee... his drawings are way more fantacy based -but definately makes for interesting reference material.
My favourite artist at this time is without any doubt : Mr Jack Vettriano...."
